Modernist Chess Set, originally designed by Josef Hartwig for the Bauhaus in 1923, this example is from a limited edition made for the Museum of Modern Art in 1974. Typical of timeless Bauhaus design, the set's 32 pieces are shaped like cubes, cylinders, and balls. It is constructed of maple wood, natural and stained black. Original box.
