Vintage German Hand Carved Chess Set

This is fine vintage German hand carved wooden chess set. Purchased from an estate. The previous owner bought this set in Germany in the 70’s while stationed in Germany.
APF Rolland brand.
Pieces are nicely carved by hand with very good detail and made of solid natural maple and stained brown maple. They are finished very well. Pieces are felted and all felts are present. The set is lightly weighted.
The set comes in faux leather wooden case. Inner side is lined with red soft fabric. Fasteners and hinges are in good working condition. The set comes with NO chess board.
